Sometimes, no matter how careful you are, you find that you have a leak in your air mattress. This is why it’s a good idea to buy a patch kit with your air mattress, but if you haven’t, then there are things that you have around the house that you can use to fix your mattress.
Here are the steps that you can take in order to repair your air mattress.
- The first thing that you have to do is to find the leak in your mattress. Look around the seams, because usually that is where a leak is going to happen - this is not as difficult as it might first sound.
- Next, take an ordinary cotton ball and pull off a small piece. Roll the piece you have removed between your finger and thumb until you have a little ball, then flatten the ball until it looks similar to a deflated football.
- Now, take a bottle of super glue and saturate the cotton with it, but be certain that you don’t get any on your fingers. Then place the cotton on the hole that you have found and stuff it into the hole with a pencil point that is blunt. Allow the cotton to set for 5 or 10 minutes.
- While the patch is setting, cut a very small piece of either packing or duct tape and then put the tape over your cotton. Gently press all around the tape so that there aren’t any air bubbles and the tape is holding firm.
This is a great quick patch job for an air mattress and it will help to keep you from panicking and seeing dollar signs because you have to buy another air mattress. It’s a patch job that just about anyone can do with the right materials and with about 15 minutes to spare.
