The truth is, bad credit mortgages have been around a long time. There have always been people with less than perfect credit who want to buy a house. Lenders respond by having loan products available, but at a slightly higher cost to offset the added risk. Let's face it, there is a little more risk involved - people who have paid late before may pay late again.
