In 2005, at the Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Walter Wallet conducted a lengthy study of acne in which 10,000 adolescent boys and girls participated. It was found that there was a direct correlation between the quantity of dairy products that were eaten (milk, cheese, butter, yogurt…) and the severity of an acne condition. Dairy products may not be causing acne as such, but if you already have an acne condition, milk products can severely aggravate it. The researchers found that dairy products – with their high levels of hormones – induced significant metabolic effects that worsened acne symptoms.
