There are different types of indoor tanning lotions and are all designed to serve one purpose. That purpose is to help the tanner get the tan they want faster. It attempts to speed up the tanning process through different ways. Accelerators are one type of tanning lotions and, as its name suggests, the lotion speeds up melanin production by moisturizing the skin and using oils to provide minerals and amino acids that have been linked to melanin production. Tingle lotion is another type that uses chemicals to slightly irritate the skin which causes an increase in blood flow to the surface of the skin. This increase in blood flow is suppose to bring with it additional oxygen and other nutrients contained in the blood to keep the cells well supplied with what it needs to do the work.
