The key to keeping small kitchens functional and organized is choosing the right kitchen storage systems. Some creativity may be required to make full use of available space.
Even small kitchens sometimes have space for an island. Islands are ideal because they provide extra cabinet storage, as well as extra counter space. Kitchen islands are available in a wide range of sizes, with some as small as two feet square at the top. Kitchen islands also look nice paired with hanging racks for frequently used pots and pans. This simple, hanging unit will add interest to the kitchen along with the additional storage space.
Fruits and vegetables can be placed in hanging baskets suspended from the ceiling. You can also purchase hanging wine racks for the wine connoisseur. Kitchens that have open space along a wall can benefit from the use of Baker’s Racks. You can also take decorative, stacking cake stands that would normally be used for serving appetizers at parties and use them for storing snacks or other small items.
