La Nucia is a small town which is not too far away from Benidorm. It’s one of those places where you can come to escape from the daily hassles of life. When you come to this vacation spot which is charming and tranquil and well away from the major tourist resort, you will feel so relaxed within a couple of hours of your arrival. So many people are trying to avoid the big cities of the Costa Blanca when they come on their vacations these days, and that is basically to avoid the mentality of the package holiday. Although package holidays can be cheap and fun, what tends to happen is you are placed in a high-rise block of apartments with everyone else who happens to be on the same type of package holiday as you. La Nucia seeks to avoid this.

What la Nucia can offer is a retreat away from the hustle and bustle, but, it can also offer a base from which to tour of the rest of this beautiful part of Spain. So, in essence you can visit all the fun parts in the area, go to the all crowded beaches and sunbathe to your hearts content, even spend an evening or a full night in one of the big cities such as Benidorm or Alicante, and still retreat back into the peace and quiet of a real Spanish town.

Although the town is very quiet and peaceful, it has been completely refurbished and reinvented over the last few years. There are many different opportunities for you so you will never get bored. There are shopping complexes, a library, a community center, and playgrounds for your children. There is also a wonderful park where the Spanish tend to congregate under the shade of the trees during the hot summer days. And if you have liking for the arts, you will love the brand new indoor concert hall that has been beautifully erected in the town, or if like me you prefer to stay in the open air, there is a magnificent 3000 seat auditorium just across the road.
