Quick Checklist to a Successful Menu Cover

Menu covers are a minor detail in a restaurant but paying some close attention to them is more important than you would think. As a visitor you probably never took a second glance before opening it but that’s because it was well designed and engineered to make you look at the menu straight. A good menu cover is catchy and tells the customer where the menu is and why he needs to take a look at it. The menu is one of the best member s of your staff and it sells the most dishes, pay due respect to it.

Replacing menus every day would be devastatingly expensive therefore some form of protection to keep them available at all times is important. If there are twenty people skimming through every menu you have every day, it takes only a couple of days to make them look like a wrinkled piece of notebook paper and nothing plants the wrong ideas in your guests’ heads more, than noticing such a detail. Your menu covers need to be cheap because they will stand some heavy duty use. Spilled liquids, greasy spots, sprinkled wine are all leaving their mark on the menu.

The menu cover needs to be in harmony with the style of the place. There are modern restaurants and little local bars but should they change menu covers for a day, they’d puzzle every customer they have. It is therefore important to make sure the menu holders are right where they need to be on design and style.

One of the important duties of the menu cover is to be attractive. If your restaurant has a staple dish you’re really proud of, feature it on the cover. People, even sub-consciously, like to order food they see, and if someone orders the course your cooks make the best, chances are they’re going to be satisfied enough to suggest their friends to eat out at your place.

Menu containers are a small detail, but some guests look around with scrutiny, so these are the small details you want to keep in mind and take care of as best as possible. Ask local artists or design studios to help you with choosing and making the best cover and you can have a peace of mind, that your restaurant is a step closer to perfection.
