I’m not sure what it is inside of me, but I have always had a passion for finding ways to buy things for much less than the sticker price.  I think that is what led me to go into cost management for a career, and now I serve as a purchasing director for a large non-profit Christian ministry.  During my time here I have found one of the largest areas of waste and non-essential spending is in the area of printer ink.  Most office workers don’t know, and seem not to care, that when you run out of ink, you can shake your cartridge to get a few more pages out of it.  This may not seem like a big deal, but when you spend over $100,000 a year on printer ink, even getting ten-percent more is a big savings.  These days, the managers lovingly call me the “cheap printer ink” guy!
